Day 2: Arrival in Shimla – The Queen of Hills
Our journey began in Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. The fresh mountain air and colonial architecture welcomed us as we strolled down the famous Mall Road. The cool breeze and pine-scented air made the perfect start to our trip. We explored Christ Church, the Ridge, and enjoyed a peaceful evening at Scandal Point.
Highlight : Shimla’s Toy Train ride from Kalka was a nostalgic experience, passing through scenic landscapes and over 100 tunnels.
Day 3: Kufri – A Nature Lover’s Delight
Just 16 km from Shimla, Kufri is a picturesque hill station known for its ski slopes and panoramic views. We visited Kufri Fun World, where we enjoyed horse riding and had some fun on the snow-covered slopes. It was a dream come true for adventure lovers!
Pro Tip: Don’t forget to carry warm clothing, especially during winters, as Kufri can get quite chilly.
Day 4: Manali – The Adventure Capital
Next, we headed to Manali, a town synonymous with adventure. The 8-hour drive from Shimla to Manali was nothing short of mesmerizing. The Beas River ran parallel to the road, giving us company as we crossed lush green valleys and snow-capped peaks.
In Manali, we visited the Hadimba Temple, nestled in a cedar forest, and strolled through the vibrant Manali market. The evening was spent relaxing by the river, soaking in the tranquility.
Must-Try Activity:
Manali is famous for its adventure sports. If you’re an adrenaline junkie, try your hand at paragliding, river rafting, or skiing at Solang Valley.
Day 5: Rohtang Pass – The Snow Paradise
One of the highlights of our trip was visiting Rohtang Pass. Though the drive can be a bit rough due to high-altitude terrain, the sight of snow-covered peaks is worth every bump! Playing in the snow, building snowmen, and enjoying a hot cup of tea amidst the breathtaking view was an experience we’ll cherish forever.
Tip :
Rohtang Pass requires a permit, so arrange that in advance. Also, carry extra warm clothing, as it can get quite cold at this altitude.
Day 6: Kullu – A Riverside Retreat
On our way back from Manali, we stopped at Kullu, famous for its temples, scenic beauty, and the River Beas. We visited the Bijli Mahadev Temple, perched on a hilltop, offering stunning views of the valley below. The trek to the temple was a bit challenging but incredibly rewarding with the serene atmosphere and majestic views.
Pro Tip :
If you’re a fan of local crafts, don’t miss out on buying Kullu shawls from the local markets—they are beautiful, warm, and perfect souvenirs!
Day 7: Departure – Leaving with a Heart Full of Memories
As our trip ended, we left Himachal with a heart full of memories and a desire to return. The snow-clad mountains, serene valleys, and warm hospitality make Himachal Pradesh a destination worth visiting again and again.
Whether it’s the adventure of paragliding in Solang Valley, the serenity of the temples, or the joy of sipping chai in the middle of snow-capped peaks, Himachal offers something for everyone. It’s a perfect getaway to reconnect with nature, enjoy peaceful moments, and experience thrilling adventures.
Final Tip: The best time to visit Himachal depends on what you want to experience. For snow and winter sports, visit between December and February, while the summer months (March to June) are perfect for trekking, sightseeing, and pleasant weather.
